How to make money as a fitness influencer

You make money as a fitness influencer by selling the training gear and sneakers your followers see every week, through a free shop on FanShop.

How fitness influencers usually earn

The known routes are supplement sponsorships, affiliate codes for apparel brands, coaching plans, a training app or subscription, and ambassador deals. Sponsors and brands want reach before they talk to you, coaching takes qualifications and hours of your week, and an app needs a product built before it earns. All of it is real, and all of it starts later than most people hope.

FanShop starts with the gear you already train in. Your followers see your running shoes every session and the shorts from your personal best video, and in a free shop on FanShop they can buy them, with no follower minimum.

Why training gear sells to your followers

Fitness content is repetition. The same shoes carry you through a twelve-week block, the same hoodie opens every warm-up, and your followers watch all of it. When a pair of shoes has done its miles and you move to the next, the pair with the story is what a follower wants. On FanShop you list it with the block it belonged to, photographed after training like any other post, and the follower who watched the block buys it.

What a fitness wardrobe holds

Go through your gym bag with your feed in mind.

  • Running shoes that have done their miles
  • The training shorts or tights from your personal best video
  • The hoodie from your warm-up clips
  • Lifting shoes, a belt or straps from your heavy sessions
  • The jersey or bib from a race or an event
  • The gym bag that appears in every vlog

Say which block, race or video each piece belongs to and describe its condition. Clean photos in the gym or at home are all the listing needs.

How you get in

  1. Apply in the browser. A person reads your application.
  2. You get your invitation by email and set up your shop.
  3. You verify your identity once (18 and over).
  4. You list your pieces, each one is approved by a person.
  5. On a sale you download your prepaid label, pick a parcel shop and drop the parcel off. FanShop is the sender on the label, your name and address stay private.

FanShop is in pre-launch. Creators apply now and build their shops, buyers arrive at launch. The shoes you retire this block are listed before the next block starts.

What a sale pays and when

You enter the amount that should land with you, the shop price is calculated from it, and FanShop keeps 30 percent of the shop price. The buyer pays shipping at checkout, parcels ship across the EU, and returns go to FanShop.

Payouts go out once a month to your bank or Stripe account. A sale becomes due 14 days after confirmed delivery, which covers the buyer's statutory right of withdrawal. The minimum payout is 10 euros, and smaller amounts roll into the next month.

Common questions

Can I sell worn running shoes and training gear?

Yes. Shoes, clothing and gear you have personally trained in are exactly what FanShop is for. Present them clean, photographed after training like any fitness post.

Do I need to be a certified trainer?

No. You sell your own pieces, not advice. FanShop asks for an application, one identity check at 18 or over, and an approved listing per piece.

Do I have to pay tax on this?

For most creators this is relaxed. Selling things from your everyday life is usually treated as a private sale, and the rules depend on the country you live in. Under EU platform rules, FanShop reports nothing to the tax office as long as you stay under 30 sales and 2,000 euros per year. If you sell regularly, a quick word with a tax adviser settles it. This is general information, not legal or tax advice. Full details are on our Notes and FAQ page.

What can I sell, and what stays out?

Pieces you have personally worn, used or owned: clothing, shoes and gear. New merchandise, reselling and underwear stay out, nothing sexual is listed, and presentation is always clean.
