You can sell worn clothes on general resale apps or, if people follow you online, directly to the followers who have seen you wear them. The second route pays for who wore the piece and where, not only for brand and condition. This guide covers both routes and how FanShop works in detail.
The common places to sell worn clothes online are Vinted, Depop and eBay. They exist, listing is free and they reach a lot of people. The buyer there is a stranger who filters by size, brand and price. Your hoodie sits next to a hundred other hoodies, and the lowest price usually wins.
That works for clearing a wardrobe. It does not work for a creator, a streamer, an athlete or a model whose clothes have appeared in their content for months, because the one thing that makes those clothes worth more is invisible to a stranger.
If you post regularly, your followers know your clothes. The hoodie in every video. The jacket from the trip they followed. The shirt from the anniversary stream. The jersey from match night. To them a piece from your wardrobe is not used clothing, it is the piece from the video.
FanShop is a marketplace built for this. Creators sell personal pieces they have worn, used or owned to their own fans. No new merchandise, no reselling, and every listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live.
Examples creators list:
Describe each piece honestly. Say when you wore it, where it appeared and what condition it is in. Your followers want the real piece, so staged perfection is not the point.
Joining is free. There is no monthly fee and no follower minimum. You apply in the browser, a person reviews your application and you get an invitation by email. Before your first sale you verify your identity once. Every listing is then reviewed by a person before it goes live.
Pricing works from the payout. You enter the amount you want to receive for a piece, and the shop price is calculated from that. FanShop keeps 30 percent of the shop price. What you entered is what you get once the sale is complete.
The buyer pays shipping at checkout. When a piece sells, you pick a parcel shop near you, download a prepaid label and hand the parcel in. The label shows FanShop as the sender and a creator code. Your name and street never appear on the parcel, so buyers do not learn where you live.
Returns go to FanShop, not to you. Shipping is within the EU.
Payouts run once a month to a bank or Stripe account. A sale becomes payable 14 days after confirmed delivery, which is the legal return window buyers have in the EU. The minimum payout is 10 euro, and smaller amounts roll over into the next month.
If a piece is returned, the buyer is refunded and nothing is paid out for that sale. You are not charged for it either, because nothing was paid to you in the first place.
How much a piece pays is up to you, because you enter the payout. A follower pays for the hoodie from the video, so the number can sit above what a stranger would pay for the same hoodie on a resale app. Nobody can promise a figure, and FanShop does not.
On tax: regular selling for profit may count as a business in your country. FanShop gives no legal or tax advice. Ask a tax adviser about your situation.
