Sell worn sneakers and shoes: where and how

You can sell worn sneakers on general resale apps or, if you have a following online, directly to the people who have watched you wear them. The second route pays for the story behind the shoes, not just their condition, and this guide explains how it works.

Where people sell worn shoes today

The common places to sell used shoes online are Vinted, eBay and Depop. They exist, they are free to list on and they reach a broad market. The buyer there is a stranger. They find your pair by filtering for brand, size and condition, and they compare your listing with every other pair of the same model. Scuffs lower the price, and your name means nothing to them.

For most people clearing out a shoe rack, that is fine. For a creator, a streamer or an athlete whose sneakers have appeared in dozens of videos, it leaves out the main reason someone would want that exact pair.

Why worn sneakers from a creator are different

If you post online, your followers have seen your shoes. The running shoes from your training updates, the court shoes from your match nights, the everyday sneakers from your vlogs, the pair you wore on the trip your audience followed for two weeks. To a stranger they are used shoes. To a follower they are the shoes from those videos.

That is why FanShop exists. It is a marketplace where creators sell personal pieces they have worn, used or owned to their own fans. Sneakers and shoes are a natural fit. They wear visibly, they appear in content constantly and they are replaced regularly.

What sells well as a worn pair

Examples from everyday creator life:

  • Running shoes after a season or a race your followers watched
  • Basketball or football shoes from your match content
  • The everyday sneakers that appear in most of your videos
  • Skate shoes from your clips
  • Hiking boots from a trip series
  • The pair you wore on stage, on a stream or at an event

Clean them, photograph them honestly and describe where they have been. Followers want the real pair, not a staged one. New shoes bought to resell are not allowed on FanShop, and every listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live.

How selling on FanShop works

Joining is free. There is no monthly fee and no follower minimum. You apply in the browser, a person reviews your application and you receive an invitation by email. Before your first sale you verify your identity once.

You enter the payout you want for the pair and the shop price is calculated from that. FanShop keeps 30 percent of the shop price. The number you entered is the number you receive after the sale is complete.

Shipping shoes with a prepaid label

The buyer pays shipping at checkout. When the pair sells, you pick a parcel shop near you, download a prepaid label and hand the parcel in. The label shows FanShop as the sender and a creator code. Your name and street never appear on it, so the buyer does not learn where you live.

If the buyer returns the shoes, they go to FanShop, not to you. Shipping is within the EU.

When you get paid

Payouts run once a month to a bank or Stripe account. A sale is payable 14 days after confirmed delivery, which is the legal return window for buyers in the EU. The minimum payout is 10 euro, and smaller amounts roll over into the next month.

Returned pairs are refunded to the buyer, and nothing is paid out for that sale.

On tax: regular selling for profit may count as a business in your country. FanShop gives no legal or tax advice, so ask a tax adviser about your situation.
