Sell worn jerseys and sportswear to fans

The best buyer for a worn jersey is someone who watched you wear it. General resale apps sell sportswear by brand and size, but a game worn jersey from a player or a creator carries a story that only their own supporters will pay for. This guide covers where to sell, how it works and what to expect.

Where worn jerseys are sold

Used sportswear appears on Vinted and Depop, and game worn jerseys from well known players appear on eBay. Those platforms exist and work. The buyer there is a stranger who searched for a club or a brand and has no way to confirm who wore the shirt or in which game. Your jersey competes with every other listing of the same kit, and the price follows condition and rarity.

If you are an athlete, a streamer or a creator with a following, that leaves out the main value. Your supporters know the game. They saw the jersey. They want that one.

What counts as a worn jersey worth selling

Anything you have actually competed, trained or created content in.

  • Match worn jerseys from games your supporters followed
  • Training shirts and shorts from a season
  • The jersey you wore on stream for match nights
  • A kit from a tournament or a cup run
  • Goalkeeper gloves, caps, sleeves or headbands from games
  • Warm up tops and team jackets

What does not belong is new merchandise or replica kits bought to resell. FanShop is for pieces with your own history in them, and every listing is reviewed by a person before it goes live.

How FanShop works for jerseys

FanShop is a marketplace where creators and athletes sell personal pieces they have worn, used or owned to their own fans. Joining is free, with no monthly fee and no follower minimum.

You apply in the browser. A person reviews the application and sends you an invitation by email. Before your first sale you verify your identity once. That identity check matters for jerseys in particular, because buyers want to know the shirt comes from the person who wore it.

You enter the payout you want for the jersey, and the shop price is calculated from it. FanShop keeps 30 percent of the shop price. The payout you typed is what you receive after the sale completes.

Describing a game worn jersey

Buyers who follow you want the details. Which game, which season, which number. Whether it was washed. Where the marks come from. Photograph the front, the back, the label and any damage. A supporter buying a match worn jersey is buying the match as much as the fabric, so tell them about it. Do not invent a story and do not describe a training shirt as match worn.

Shipping without your address on the parcel

The buyer pays shipping at checkout. When the jersey sells, you pick a parcel shop near you, download a prepaid label and hand the parcel in. The label shows FanShop as the sender and a creator code. Your name and your street do not appear.

Returns go to FanShop, not to you. Shipping is within the EU, so supporters in other European countries can buy.

When you are paid

Payouts run once a month to a bank or Stripe account. A sale becomes payable 14 days after confirmed delivery, which is the legal return window for buyers in the EU. The minimum payout is 10 euro, and smaller amounts roll over to the next month.

If a jersey is returned, the buyer is refunded and nothing is paid out for that sale.

On tax: regular selling for profit may count as a business in your country, and clubs or federations may have rules about selling kit. FanShop gives no legal or tax advice. Ask a tax adviser about your situation.

Common questions

Can I sell a replica jersey I bought in a shop?

Only if you have actually worn it yourself, for example on stream or at games. New merchandise and jerseys bought to resell are not allowed, and each listing is reviewed by a person.

How do buyers know the jersey is really mine?

You verify your identity once before your first sale, and each listing is reviewed by a person. Your fans buy from your shop, not from an anonymous listing.

How much do I get for a worn jersey?

You decide. You enter the payout you want, the shop price is calculated from it and FanShop keeps 30 percent of the shop price.

Does the buyer see my address?

No. The prepaid label shows FanShop as the sender and a creator code. Returns go to FanShop.

FanShop is in pre-launch. Athletes and creators can apply now, verify once and set up their shop with the first jerseys, so everything is ready when fans start buying at launch. You must be at least 18. Apply at webapp.fanshop.app/apply and a person will review your application.
