Notes and FAQ for creators

Everything you want to know as a creator on FanShop, on one page: taxes, costs, payouts, shipping, rules and applying.

Taxes: how it stays relaxed

For most creators this is a small topic. Selling things from your everyday life is usually treated as a private sale. The rules depend on the country you live in, and three points help, as of October 2026:

  • Private sales: many countries treat the sale of everyday personal items as tax free or set an annual allowance. In Germany, for example, everyday items are exempt and other private sales have an allowance of 1,000 euros of total gain per year.
  • Reporting to the tax office: under the EU platform rules (DAC7), FanShop reports your sales only once you reach 30 sales or 2,000 euros in a year. Below that, nothing goes to the tax office.
  • Selling regularly: if you sell often and for profit, your country may treat it as a business. A quick word with a tax adviser settles it for your case.
Important note: this is general information, not legal or tax advice, and it does not replace advice from a tax adviser or lawyer. Whether and how the rules apply to you depends on your individual case and your country. FanShop accepts no liability for this information.

Costs and payouts

What does FanShop cost?

Nothing. There is no monthly fee and no follower minimum. FanShop keeps 30 percent of the shop price when a piece sells.

How is my price calculated?

You enter what should land with you. The shop price is calculated from that, and the amount you entered is the amount you receive.

When do I get paid?

Once a month to your bank or Stripe account. A sale becomes due 14 days after confirmed delivery, because the buyer has a statutory right of withdrawal in that time. The minimum payout is 10 euros, smaller amounts roll into the next month.

What happens on a return?

The buyer is refunded and there is no payout for that sale. Returns go to FanShop, not to you.

Shipping and your address

Do buyers see my address?

No. The label shows FanShop as the sender and a creator code. Your name and address appear nowhere.

How do I ship?

On a sale you download your prepaid label, pick a parcel shop and drop the parcel off. The buyer pays shipping at checkout, delivery covers the whole EU.

What you can sell

Which pieces fit FanShop?

Clothing, shoes and gear you have personally worn, used or owned and that your fans know from your content. Every piece gets its story and is checked by a person before it goes live.

What stays out?

New merchandise and reselling of things you only bought, as well as underwear and anything sexual. Presentation is always clean, like a normal post from training, everyday life, sport or stage.

Can I sell club or sponsor gear?

Usually yes. If you have a club or sponsor contract, check what it says about jerseys and gear first.

Applying and launch

How do I apply?

In the browser, in a few minutes. A person reads your application, you get your invitation by email and set up your shop. Before your first sale you verify your identity once, minimum age is 18.

Can I sell already?

FanShop is in pre-launch. You apply now, fill your shop at your own pace and stand ready with finished pieces at launch, when the first buyers arrive.

Ready? Your shop is waiting.

Applying takes a few minutes. A person reviews it and you get an answer by email.
