How to make money with a small following

You make money with a small following by selling the people who already trust you the pieces they know, free on FanShop with no follower minimum.

What small accounts are usually told

The standard advice to a micro creator is to grow first and earn later. Brand deals, platform programmes and affiliate networks all look at reach, and most of them set a minimum before they open. The advice is honest as far as it goes: those routes do wait for numbers, and a creator with 600 followers will wait a long time at that door.

There is a route that does not look at the number. If your 600 followers have watched you wear the same jacket all winter, that jacket has a buyer among them. FanShop gives you a free shop to sell it, with no follower minimum.

Why trust beats reach for this sale

A brand deal needs thousands of people to glance at a post. Selling your own piece needs one person who knows it and wants it. Small accounts are built on exactly that kind of attention: your followers reply to your stories, remember your videos and notice when you change your sneakers. On FanShop that attention turns into a sale, and the size of the account never comes up.

What to list first

Start with the three pieces your followers would name if you asked them.

  • The jacket or hoodie you have worn in most of your content
  • Sneakers your followers have seen on you for a season
  • The cap or beanie from your profile picture
  • A jersey from a match day, a race or an event
  • Gear from a challenge your followers took part in

Photograph each piece, write when you wore it and what condition it is in, and submit. A person at FanShop approves it, and your shop has its first three listings.

How you get in

  1. Apply in the browser. A person reads your application.
  2. You get your invitation by email and set up your shop.
  3. You verify your identity once (18 and over).
  4. You list your pieces, each one is approved by a person.
  5. On a sale you download your prepaid label, pick a parcel shop and drop the parcel off. FanShop is the sender on the label, your name and address stay private.

FanShop is in pre-launch. Creators apply now and build their shops, buyers arrive at launch. A small account that lists now opens on the same day as every other shop.

What a sale pays and when

You enter the amount that should land with you, the shop price is calculated from it, and FanShop keeps 30 percent of the shop price. The buyer pays shipping at checkout, parcels ship across the EU, and returns go to FanShop.

Payouts go out once a month to your bank or Stripe account. A sale becomes due 14 days after confirmed delivery, which covers the buyer's statutory right of withdrawal. The minimum payout is 10 euros, and smaller amounts roll into the next month.

Common questions

Is there really no follower minimum?

None. FanShop is free, has no monthly fee and does not ask for a follower count. A person reads your application and looks at you, not at a number.

How many pieces should a small account list?

Start with three pieces your followers recognise and add more as they sell. A small shop with clear stories works better than a long list without them.

Do I have to pay tax on this?

For most creators this is relaxed. Selling things from your everyday life is usually treated as a private sale, and the rules depend on the country you live in. Under EU platform rules, FanShop reports nothing to the tax office as long as you stay under 30 sales and 2,000 euros per year. If you sell regularly, a quick word with a tax adviser settles it. This is general information, not legal or tax advice. Full details are on our Notes and FAQ page.

What can I sell, and what stays out?

Pieces you have personally worn, used or owned: clothing, shoes and gear. New merchandise, reselling and underwear stay out, nothing sexual is listed, and presentation is always clean.
