Side hustle ideas that fit around your life

The side hustles that stick are built on what you already have, and if you have followers, FanShop lets you sell them the pieces they know.

The usual side hustles, and who they suit

Most side hustle lists name the same routes: a part-time job in retail or hospitality, delivery and ride apps, tutoring or freelancing, and selling used items on resale apps. All of them work. All of them also trade your evenings for money or put you next to thousands of strangers offering the same thing, and they suit people with spare hours and no audience.

FanShop suits a different person. If you post on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Twitch and own pieces your followers have seen, you already hold stock and a market. The side hustle is listing those pieces in a free shop and letting the people who know them buy.

Why your followers beat a resale app

On a resale app your hoodie is one grey hoodie among hundreds, priced against strangers. To your followers it is the hoodie from your videos, and that changes what it is worth and how quickly it moves. Nobody else can offer that piece, so you skip the race to the bottom. FanShop is built for exactly that sale, with a shop under your own name and no follower minimum.

What you can list this week

Your own pieces with your own history in them, which is what your followers recognise.

  • The hoodie or jacket you wear in most of your videos
  • Sneakers that have had their season
  • The cap or beanie from your profile picture
  • A jersey from your match day content
  • The backpack from a travel series
  • Gear from a challenge your followers watched

Each listing needs photos, when you wore the piece, where it appeared and its condition. Writing that takes a few minutes, and a person at FanShop approves it before it goes live.

How you get in

  1. Apply in the browser. A person reads your application.
  2. You get your invitation by email and set up your shop.
  3. You verify your identity once (18 and over).
  4. You list your pieces, each one is approved by a person.
  5. On a sale you download your prepaid label, pick a parcel shop and drop the parcel off. FanShop is the sender on the label, your name and address stay private.

FanShop is in pre-launch. Creators apply now and build their shops, and buyers arrive at launch. Your pieces are already listed when the doors open.

What a sale pays and when

You enter the amount that should land with you, the shop price is calculated from it, and FanShop keeps 30 percent of the shop price. The buyer pays shipping at checkout, and parcels run across the EU. Returns go to FanShop, never to your door.

Payouts go out once a month to your bank or Stripe account. A sale becomes due 14 days after confirmed delivery, which covers the buyer's statutory right of withdrawal. The minimum payout is 10 euros, and smaller amounts roll into the next month. Every sale and its due date shows in your FanShop account.

Common questions

Does this side hustle cost anything to start?

No. FanShop is free, there is no monthly fee, and you sell pieces you already own. FanShop earns 30 percent of the shop price only when something sells.

How much time does it take each week?

Listing a piece takes a few minutes of photos and a short story. After a sale you print the prepaid label and drop the parcel at a parcel shop, which fits into a normal errand.

Do I have to pay tax on this?

For most creators this is relaxed. Selling things from your everyday life is usually treated as a private sale, and the rules depend on the country you live in. Under EU platform rules, FanShop reports nothing to the tax office as long as you stay under 30 sales and 2,000 euros per year. If you sell regularly, a quick word with a tax adviser settles it. This is general information, not legal or tax advice. Full details are on our Notes and FAQ page.

What can I sell, and what stays out?

Pieces you have personally worn, used or owned: clothing, shoes and gear. New merchandise, reselling and underwear stay out, nothing sexual is listed, and presentation is always clean.
